1. What is Letter of Access (LoA)?

LoA is a declaration of the data owner or his representative which states that a competent authority ('CA') can use his data for the benefit of a third party.

2. What are requirements for LoA?

Only signed originals on paper are accepted.

Standard EU form is recommended. 

Please note that in standard EU form indicated only minimum necessary data. LoA may be provided in any different form and include more data


3. How confidentiality requests should be made in the LoA?

Requests in the LoA not to show data to the beneficiary are redundant. LoA is written permission only for CA to use the data and only for the purpose of authorisation.


4. What is LoA validity period?

LoA must be valid for the moment of granting authorisation. Any other validity periods are not taken into consideration.


5. How do Vilnius Public Health Centre ensures that conditions in the LoA are met?

Any conditions in the LoA that go beyond the requirements of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 do not put any obligation on Vilnius Public Health Centre.
