World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week
Antibiotics are drugs that kill bacteria or stop them from growing, thereby treating infections that affect not only humans but also animals and sometimes plants. Note, however, that antibiotics are only used to treat bacterial infections. Therefore, the National Public Health Centre calls for further efforts to fight antimicrobial resistance and preserve antibiotic efficacy for future generations, as part of World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week, 18-24 November, and invites to take part in events:
- Public consultation on Responsible antibiotic use in Šilalė district at 13.00, 22 November.
- Remote scientific-practical conference Antimicrobial Resistance - Antibiotics in the Environment at 14:00, 23 November.
