Workers to Be Monitored Following Bird Flu Outbreak at Poultry Farm in Šilutė District
On 28 January, the Klaipėda Department of the National Public Health Centre (NPHC) received information from the State Food and Veterinary Service regarding confirmed cases of bird flu at the poultry farm in Šilutė district Vilkyčių paukštynas and promptly implemented preventive measures. All individuals who had contact with the deceased birds, including farm workers, are being identified. They will receive information on health monitoring, symptoms to watch for, and relevant recommendations.
On 28 January, representatives from the NVSC Klaipėda Department and Šilutė Division met with the Šilutė district administration to discuss further actions.
To date, no cases of human infection with bird flu have been reported in Lithuania.
