NPHC Investigates Outbreak of Intestinal Infection in Klaipėda
Klaipėda Department of the National Public Health Centre is investigating an outbreak of intestinal infections. According to the latest data (16 August 2024), 8 persons have fallen ill, 7 of whom have been diagnosed with salmonellosis.
During the epidemiological survey, the affected persons indicated on 2-8 August, they had eaten at the same restaurant 'Mosso', Klaipėda. The restaurant visitors who felt unwell also reported eating the same tiramisu dessert. The information has been forwarded to the State Food and Veterinary Service.
The results of the food and food contact surface tests taken by the VMVT are being awaited to make final conclusions about the causes of the outbreak.
