No chemical or radiological risks detected in the finding at school in Kaunas
The Fire and Rescue Department assessed the contents of a letter received today at the Kaunas Aleksandras Stulginskis School Multifunctional Centre regarding potential chemical and radiological contamination and determined that no risks were present. The contents of the envelope have been sent to the National Public Health Surveillance Laboratory for microbiological testing. The results of the investigation are expected by the end of Monday, 23December.
A disinfection of the premises is being organized, after which the rooms will be thoroughly ventilated, ensuring a safe resumption of educational activities.
Representatives from the Fire and Rescue Department (PAGD), the National Public Health Centre, environmental protection agencies, the Kaunas Municipality, and the Lithuanian Police worked on-site of the incident.
