HOW TO ISOLATE

HOW TO ISOLATE if you have been exposed to someone with confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus infection) or have arrived from abroad

Do not use public transport to go to the place of self-isolation after arriving in Lithuania. Always wear personal protective equipment covering your mouth and nose (face mask, respirator, etc.) and maintain distance of 1-2 meters from other people;

Stay in a separate apartment or house, on a separate well-isolated floor of an individual apartment or house with a separate bathroom. If it is not possible to ensure these conditions, self-isolation may take place in a separate, well-ventilated room (i.e. with windows that open and doors that close tightly).

Monitor your health. If you notice any symptoms of the infection (fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sudden loss or weakening of sense of smell and taste), immediately call the Coronavirus Hotline tel. 1808, provide the circumstances of how you may have contracted the virus (it is necessary to indicate that you have been abroad within the last 14 days).

Follow recommendations of an healthcare specialist.

Do not leave the self-isolation place (you are allowed to temporarily leave isolation place in certain cases). It is prohibited to travel by public transport to or from the self-isolation place in case of necessity to perform a test or other specified cases. If it is not possible for you to get to the mobile testing site by your car or vehicle of your close people, carriers or taxis, you may apply to the municipal administration for transportation;

Do not accept any guests for the duration of the self-isolation period.

Ask your family or friends to take care of food and other necessities. If this is not possible, it is recommended to order food online.

A person isolated after arriving in Lithuania may leave a place of isolation wearing protective equipment covering mouth and nose (face mask, respirator, etc.) in these cases (without notification of or permission from the NVSC):

foreigners and citizens of the Republic of Lithuania living or working abroad, as well as persons who need to leave for health care purposes, may leave the Republic of Lithuania to the state where they live, work or where health care will be provided before the isolation period of 10 days.
