NPHC Representatives Participate in International Meeting in Warsaw: Focus on the Importance of Biocidal Products and Crisis Management Experience
Rolanda Lingienė, Director of the Vilnius Department of the National Public Health Centre (NPHC) under the Ministry of Health, and Saulius Majus, Head of the Product Evaluation Division, attended an international meeting in Warsaw, Poland, focused on the topic: The Importance of Biocidal Products in Our Lives. Exchange of Experience of the Competent Authorities.
This high-level event brought together representatives from the European Commission, the European Chemicals Agency, the competent authorities of European Union member states, Ukraine, and Poland, as well as industry experts in the field of biocides.
During the meeting, the importance of biocidal products in public health, environmental protection, and daily life was discussed in detail. National regulatory models, management practices, and crisis preparedness were analysed, taking into account the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Particularly valuable were the direct contacts established with leaders and experts from Polish and Ukrainian institutions, as well as representatives of the Polish Pest Control Business Association. This provides a solid foundation for further cooperation, which will help address international issues more effectively and create a unified approach to the regulation of biocidal products.
The NPHC representatives from Vilnius Department also gained insights into Poland's experience in organizing events for the European Council Presidency. This provided valuable practical insights into effectively integrating a country’s cultural and historical context into international formats, as Lithuania prepares to take on the European Union Council Presidency in 2027.
Participation in this event strengthened our international ties, provided an opportunity for direct knowledge exchange with experts from other countries, and offered practical insights that will be significant in improving national decisions in this field.
