How to Protect Yourself

To reduce the risk of contracting influenza, URTI, or COVID-19, it is important to:

  • Wash hands thoroughly and regularly
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Frequently ventilate and clean rooms using damp methods
  • Follow proper coughing and sneezing etiquette
  • Avoid close contact with people who are coughing or sneezing

If you experience symptoms such as sore throat, headache, nasal congestion, or runny nose, consult your healthcare provider.

Influenza activity peaked in week 6 of 2025 and has been decreasing since.
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) activity peaked in week 52 of 2024 and is also declining, although it remains high. Some countries continue to report RSV epidemics.
COVID-19 activity has been on the decline since summer 2024 and remained low through the winter.

Influenza tends to affect individuals aged 45 and older more severely, while RSV infections are most common among children under 5.
